The show performed so well that the network made a risky move: putting Jim opposite the NBC juggernaut Frasier. Although Jim did not beat the competition, it performed well enough to secure itself that spot on the 2003 fall schedule. Despite its success and keeping a steady core audience, the show was universally panned by critics as an example of a tired sitcom. Ratings have fallen, however ABC has renewed According to Jim for its sixth season on its midseason line-up for 2006-2007 season. 　　Jim is a regular suburban father. He's married to a gorgeous woman, Cheryl, and raises his three kids – Gracie, Ruby and the newborn Kyle – in a big house.
